SWEET PERDITION (33)
(Mar./1992)
Wake up!
Your life has begun
Tough luck!
You must be moving on
Thrown out of your mother's lair
Now you have no time to spare
A glare so bright, ahead you see
Attracts you towards the city
Now you have reached the land of wonders
To gather the fruits of life
School is over for you right now
No one will keep you in jail
Now here's your chance, to grab it all
The world is in your hands
You found yourself in this city
When you lost your situation
"Till you become out of breath
You'll be living in sweet perdition
And for the rest of your life
Divided between hopes and fears
Till the end of time
Weakened by childhood's scrupples
Confidence slowly goes
Trying hard to catch your breath
It seems you're getting nowhere
You lost all understanding
Of this strange world around
Surrounded by a multitude
Burying you alive
Lost in this immence-city
You found some inspiration
"Till you regain consciousness
You'll be living in sweet perdition
You staggered in the smog
And failed to reach your goal
You were surrounded by shadows
Who fiercely took away your soul
Now that it seems so clear
Forget what you've heard
And watch the game!
Lost in this immence-city
We find some inspiration
"Till we regain consciousness
We'll be living in sweet perdition
And the rest of our lives
Divided between hopes and fears
'Till the end of time...
FACE A LA TELEVISION (28)
(Dec./1990)
Dans chaque maison de chaque ville
D'une civilisation bien tranquille
La boite à images est au salon
Cet engin despotique
Armé de rayons cathodiques
Monopolise l'attention
Détourne les conversations
Coupe toutes communications
SALESMAN #13 (32)
(Feb/1992)
After all the years I battled hard
To get through this jungle
I finally made it good, I'm the only one in town
You can look around I know you will not find
Another place that can beat my offer
'Cause they all follow the leader
I was raised to believe in the power of money
In the temple of consummation, I acknowledged my master
He said;
Kneel before me, kneel before me!
Now that I raised some dough to fulfill my desire
I have now become your master
I say;
Kneel before me, you dirty weed
Kneel before me, you follow, I lead
Kneel before me, until you bleed
You know that it's an old unwriten rule
There are no friends in business
I'll look over your shoulder, to see how much you earn
And even if you find a way to pass me by
I'll be on the next corner
To pull a fast one on you and your friends
I was raised to believe in the power of money
In the temple of consummation, I acknowledged my master
He said;
Kneel before me, kneel before me!
Now that I raised some dough to fulfill my desire
I have now become your master
I say;
Kneel before me, you dirty weed
Kneel before me, you follow, I lead
Kneel before me, until you bleed
I put stars in your eyes
But you won't even realise
That you've been so unwise
'Cause under such a nice disguise
I'm only selling dreams...
There are no friend in business
So you get what you deserve
It's the same old unwriten rule
I'm the master and you serve
This song is meant to uncover those
who sell rock'n roll dreams that can't be fulfilled.
NEMESIS (26)
(Oct./1990)
They came from another world
To follow our evolution
'Cause planet earth was sending out
A message we call S.O.S.!
NEMESIS!
We get what we deserve
NEMESIS!
For messing up the world
We can't see them but they're watching
From a distant point of view
And all the damage before their eyes
Seem to blame the human kind
NEMESIS!
We get what we deserve
NEMESIS!
For messing up the world
They just left without a warning
But came to the conclusion
The human specie's just a parasite
Who blindly destroys this paradise
NEMESIS!
We get what we deserve
NEMESIS!
For messing up the world
Warning: This song should not be played unless you are in a very bad mood
WINTER NIGHT (15)
(Dec/1988, Jan/1990)
No need to try telling me
What words can't really say
Now hope has fled on a winter night
I remember you told me you can't go on
Living this way
I've been all around
Asking what should I do
Didn't get any answer
'Cause no one ever listens to my questions
And I am left wondering why
Here you are, I recognize your voice once again
Now everything we planned for the future
Will remain things of the past
Only the days of joy and laughter
Will remain anchored to my memory
As long as I'll live
I've been all around
Asking what should I do
Didn't get any answer
'Cause no one ever listens to my questions
Can you tell me
When will I be freed from my daydreams?
Well I suppose that you don't know
'Cause you haven't cared sinse long ago
So long ago...
I've been all around
Asking what should I do
Didn't get any answer...

AT THE END OF THE ROAD (30)
( Dec./1991 )
You see the road under stormy grey skies
Stretching before your eyes
How can you be sure you'll get through
When you don't seem to know
Where you're going to
I don't want to stay forever
To follow you down to the end of the road
'Cause I wouldn't want to be caught alive
Facing a wall with a burden on my back
At the end of the road
I used to believe that my life
Would only find a meaning
If I reached the tip of the rainbow
Where is it gone now!
Do you know?
I don't want to stay forever
To follow you down to the end of the road
'Cause I wouldn't want to be caught alive
Facing a wall with a burden on my back
Well time is running out
You can't hold back the years forever
'Should stop before it's too late
Or you could find yourself facing a wall
At the end of the road
Tomorrow will be a better day
I'll be on my way to freedom
But today I have to find a way
To get this burden off my back
I don't want to stay forever
To follow you down to the end of the road
'Cause I wouldn't want to be caught alive
Facing a wall with a burden on my back
Well time is running out
You can't hold back the years forever
Should stop before it's too late
Or you could find yourself facing a wall
At the end of the road
Despite what you think, this song was declared
"too progressive" by reluctant record companies.
WE'LL MEET AGAIN (29)
(Apr./1991)
I was on my own, body and soul together as one
Then out of the crowd, out of the unknown
A coincidence made you a familiar face
How strange it is, when we collide
We must have met, in another life
It should've come as no surprise
You were on my way
Then as time went by, we had walked up the trail
To a dead end
And we sank in the meadows, so unaware
That we'd lose each other
We stood together, now we divide
We'll meet again in another life
It should've come as no surprise
You went on your way
Someday we'll meet again
And I don't know where, how or when
But someday we'll meet again
Would life bring us together
Only to tear us apart?
Now I'm on my own, body and soul together as one
And I look outside the window
Staring at the unknown faces passing on the streets
Still wondering what have become of you
I sometimes look around, but I haven't got a clue
All I know is, one of these days
You'll be on my way
Someday we'll meet again
And I don't know where, how or when
But someday we'll meet again
Would life bring us together
Only to tear us apart?
This album was recorded in a country house back in the spring of 1992. It was a great experience for the band as we had more recording time than was usually allowed us in a standard studio. On this third album, we have deliberately moved away from our previous releases by putting more emphasis on the guitar sound. This is part of a progression what will eventually emerge in the definitive Visible Wind sound.
