Comments on this recording: The first live performance of Visible Wind was held in an old barn that had collapsed on one end. We went to get the rented equipment in an old battered hearse that was going at 20mph on the highway. The producer of the show was a guy called Marc Petit. Just before the show, he had a motorcycle accident with his girlfriend. He was hospitalized, but his girlfriend was there in a wheel chair. The sound quality of this recording is not very good because someone had spilled beer in the faders of the mixing desk. Patrice Saint-Jean, a long time friend of the band and occasional bass player was the soundman that night and he had a hard time keeping control of the mix. Some of the instruments were suddently blasting out without warning and at the most unexpected moments. At the back of the stage, you see a Union Jack flag although it was the National Holiday of Saint-Jean Baptiste in Quebec. This was not intended as a political gesture, but someone had this big flag and said it would look nice behind the stage. It's true that we didn't play much French songs, but La Joie (Joy) is a heartfelt composition of Ghyslain Egglefield, (ex-Belzébuth). Then at midnight, it started to rain very hard, all the speakers were drowned in the pouring rain. But we had already stopped playing, somebody said that the police was coming. A few years later the barn was destroyed and a sector of suburban bungalows was built on the site. Stef
Commentaires sur cet enregistrement: Le premier show de Visible Wind a eu lieu dans une vieille grange à moitié effondrée. Nous avions été chercher l'équipement chez Ahuntsic musique, avec un vieux corbillard qui allait à 35 km/h sur l'autoroute Décarie. Le producteur du spectacle était un ami de mon frère Thierry qui s'appelait Marc Petit. Juste avant le spectacle, il a eu un accident à motocyclette avec sa blonde. Il a été hospitalisé, mais sa blonde a pu assister au concert en chaise roulante. La qualité sonore de cet enregistrement laisse à désirer parce que quelqu'un avait renversé de la bière sur la console (probablement Luc Daoust le drummer de Lankmar qui courrait après Marie-France la soeur de notre premier drummer Denis Gauthier).  À la console, Patrice Saint-Jean en a arraché avec les pitons à cause de ça. En arrière du stage, on voit le drapeau de l'Angleterre, bien que ce fut bel et bien le 24 juin, jour de la fête nationale des Québécois. À franchement parler, ce n'était pas un geste politique. C'était juste un grand et joli drapeau que le propriétaire des lieux (Guy Gagnon) avait en sa possession. Il est vrai que l'on a pas joué beaucoup d'Harmonium mais Gigi-le-Grec (Ghyslain Egglefield) a poussé une toune en français bien sentie qui évoquait la joie (ainsi qu'Harmonium). Il a aussi composé les paroles en français pour la sixième composition, jusqu'alors inédite. On a dû arrêter de jouer car la police rodait dans les alentours. Ghyslain a pu faire un tour de chant folklorique Québécois autour du feu à la guitare sèche. Puis vers minuit, il a commencé à pleuvoir, si bien que les haut parleurs loués furent innondés de plusieurs centimètres cube d'eau. Où est allé tout ce monde, qui avaient quelque chose à raconter... Quelques années plus tard la grange a été détruite afin de faire place au secteur résidentiel des "O" de Brossard qui fut construit sur les lieux. Stef
