This is a long story. When I was in the process of getting divorced in the late 70's, I went to work part time at a British bike shop called Montreal Cycle Rebuilders to keep me out of trouble. The owner, Chris Stewart had a Trident that he lent me sometimes. Met up with a KZ900 one day on the T150 and he wanted to show me how hot his bike was. He never had a chance. Four stoplight drags and he never came close. Well, I needed a Trident. Saw an ad in Walnecks and called Ed Allyn in Woodstock New York who still advertises in it but it was already sold. He gave me the number of Orlando Riguera who had two of them and they were possibly for sale. Called him and arranged for the purchase. Turned out Ollie and I had a lot in commom, we both started work in '67 for IBM fixing systems. Well, ended up buying the 68 Trident which is supposed to be the bike that Cycle Magazine tested in late '68 and another parts bike, a '73 the previous owner had shot and chopped p with an ax when it woldn't start after a tuneup. The 73 is going to become a Slippery Sam Replica and the 68 will be stock. All the trick parts that will be going on the Slippery Sam are on a '74 T150V which will be sold in it's stck form. Probably the best thing to come out of this is the two great friends I made!
