Drawings of Lucy and Jeremy

It takes practice to be able to produce quality drawings for a Web Page.

After a drawing has been inked in and scanned into the computer, it will usually require some cleaning up using a graphics editing program such as Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop to remove any errors made during the inking in process, such as lines which do not connect smoothly.

The steps of resizing and color filling can cause the quality of a drawing to suffer if they are not done carefully.  You may notice in the drawings of the children above that the drawing on the left has smoother softer lines than the one on the right.  If you apply a Blur or Soften Filter before reducing the size of an image, you will get smoother lines.

Also, when working with your drawings in graphics editing programs, pay close attention to the tolerances that you choose in selecting areas for color replacement to avoid non-smooth color transitions.
